Liverpool FC: a turnover of £490m (-8%) and net loss of £46m in 2019-20

Liverpool FC (Premier League) has posted a turnover of £490m (€558.6m as of 31/05/2020) for the 2020 financial year (from 01/06/2019 to 31/05/2020), down 8% compared to the record 2019 financial year (£533m/€604.7m as of 31/05/2019), announced the English club on 27/04/2021.

Despite the health crisis, commercial revenues (£217m €247m) were up significantly (+15%), thanks in particular to the signing of eight new partnerships, including those with Cadbury and Iugis, in addition to the renewal of those with Nivea and Carlsberg. TV rights (£202m/€230m) and matchday revenues (£71m/€81m), however, fell (down 23% and 15% respectively) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which resulted in the suspension of the Premier League from March to June 2020.

"LFC Retail experienced a significant increase in growth, with the Premier League champions' home kit breaking record sales. The club's international expansion plans also added growth with new retail stores opened in Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam," said Liverpool FC, which nevertheless posted a net loss of £46m (€52.4m) for the year.
