Intel and ESL extend their partnership to inject $100m into esports over 2022-2025

Intel Corporation, a US-based computer and electronics company, has extended its partnership with the Electronic Sports League to jointly invest another $100m (€82.8m) in esports over three years, between 2022 and 2025, announced the Swedish esports event organiser and producer on 28/04/2021. The two groups had concluded a similar agreement for the 2018-2021 cycle, also involving an investment of $100m.

"Commencing in 2022, the renewal will see the brands invest over $100m in esports over three years up to and including IEM Katowice 2025, and marks 20 years of collaboration between ESL and Intel - extending the longest running partnership in the esports industry," said the ESL, which is launching a video to celebrate their 20-year partnership for the occasion.

The partnership began with the first ESL events in Germany in the early 2000s. Since 2006, Intel has been the official title sponsor of the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), a competition organised 82 times by the ESL in 15 seasons.
