Premier League forms partnership with Indian Super League to develop football in India

Indian Super League (Indian first division) has signed a partnership with Premier League (ENG) in order to benefit from the latter's commercial and sports knowledge and to improve the practice of football in India, three months before the start of the first season of the Indian Super League, the Premier League announced in Mumbai on 22/06/2014.

This partnership will led to partnerships between Indian and English clubs to organise friendly matches, which will help promote Premier League on the channels of broadcaster Star India (holder of the broadcasting rights of the Indian Super League) and push the commercial development of English clubs in India. The leaders of Premier League clubs will give the eight franchises of the Indian Super League advice on management and development of clubs, brands and relationships with supporters, and help in defining policies to fight against corruption and doping.
