"We want to establish ourselves among Europe's top 16 clubs by continuously qualifying for the Champions League year after year. We have left some impressive footprints on the greatest European stage already. But similar to what we aim for in the Bundesliga, we have to prove that we belong to this group of clubs each year," said Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of RB Leipzig (Bundesliga), to News Tank Football on 29/04/2021.

Founded in 2009, RasenBallsport Leipzig have enjoyed a meteoric rise since their very first season in the top flight in 2016-17, the club has never finished below 6^th place in the Bundesliga and has consistently qualified for European competitions, including three editions of the Champions League, a competition they will most likely compete in again in 2021-22 (currently 2^nd in the league table with a 9-point lead over 5^th place with three games remaining).
