Bundesliga: TV rights extended in Italy (Sky; official) and Spain (Telefonica; press)

The Pay-TV operator Sky Italia has extended its broadcasting rights in Italy for the Bundesliga, 2.Bundesliga and the DFL-Supercup for the 2021-2025 cycle, announced Bundesliga International (a subsidiary of the DFL) on 30/04/2021.

Sky Italia had acquired these rights for the 2018-2021 cycle after the pay-TV package Fox Sports Italia was discontinued in June 2018. Fox Sports had originally acquired these rights for the 2017-2021 cycle on 20/06/2016. Sky Italia first broadcast the Bundesliga in 2003.

In Spain, the telecommunications operator Telefonica has also extended its rights to the Bundesliga for the 2021-2024 cycle, according to the business website Vozpópuli. Telefonica, which was in competition with the OTT platform DAZN , is said to have renegotiated its rights downwards by 10-15%, according to the Spanish website, which has not specified the value of the agreement.
