Germany: regional associations ask DFB president Fritz Keller to resign

"The presidents of the state and regional associations of the German Football Association withdrew their confidence in president Fritz Keller at the extraordinary conference this weekend (01 and 02/05/2021) in Potsdam (Brandenburg, Germany) and asked him to step down from his position (with 26 votes versus 9 and 2 abstentions). The conference also had a vote of no-confidence in general secretary Friedrich Curtius (20 votes to 14 and 3 abstentions)," announced the DFB on 02/05/2021.

The decision of the presidents' conference sanctioned Fritz Keller who compared Rainer Koch, first vice-president of the DFB (who works as a judge in Munich), to the Nazi judge Roland Freisler (who handed down some 2,600 death sentences between 1942 and 1945) at the DFB's executive committee meeting on 23/04/2021 (see below)
