Euro 2020: 1 month to go before the start of the tournament held in 11 cities from 11/06-11/07/2021

Turkey - Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome (ITA) on Friday 11/06/2021 (kick-off at 21:00 CET) will be the opening match of Euro 2020, which was postponed for 52 weeks due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Around 17,000 spectators (chosen by a draw) are expected to be allowed to attend the match, a capacity of just over 25%. UEFA and its president Aleksander Ceferin had indicated that not a single match of the 51 Euro matches would be played behind closed doors. This firm line has led to the withdrawal of two cities, Bilbao (ESP) and Dublin (IRL), from the 12 stadiums initially planned for this Euro, which Michel Platini, then president of UEFA, had wanted to spread to the four corners of the continent to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the competition:

"The four Euro 2020 matches initially scheduled for Bilbao (ESP) will be played at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville (ESP).
