FC Barcelona: meeting with City Council to discuss "more sustainable and technological" Espai Barça

An institutional delegation from FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) led by president Joan Laporta was received at Barcelona City Hall (Catalonia, ESP) by Ada Colau, the city's Mayor, to "agree on improvements to the Espai Barça project so works can begin," announced the club on 06/05/2021.

Espai Barça is a project that mainly includes the renovation of the Camp Nou (increased to 105,000 covered seats versus 99,354 uncovered seats at present), the construction of a new Palau Blaugrana (where the club's basketball, handball, futsal and hockey teams play) and the establishment of a Barça Campus (offices, hotel, etc.). To date, the Johan-Cruyff Stadium, a 6,000-capacity stadium inaugurated in August 2019, which hosts FC Barcelona B, the women's team and the U19 team for its Youth League matches, 8.5km from the Camp Nou, in the Joan Gamper sports complex, is the only part of the project to be completed.
