Super League: "Either Juventus withdraw or they won't participate in the Serie A" (G. Gravina, FIGC)

"The rules are clear: if, at the time of registration for next season (deadline 21/06/2021), Juventus are still part of the Super League, they will not be able to participate in the Serie A. I would be sorry for the fans, but rules are rules and they apply to everyone," said Gabriele Gravina, FIGC president, in Naples (ITA) on 10/05/2021.

"We would be highly irresponsible if we abandoned such mission to provide effective and sustainable answers to the existential questions that threaten the football industry," said Juventus FC, as well as two Spanish clubs, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF, in a joint press release on 08/05/2021 in defense of their idea of a European Super League, which was presented on 18/04/2021.

The nine other founding clubs (six English, two Italian and one Spanish), on the other hand, have since backed down (see "further reading" section), apologised and signed an agreement with UEFA on 07/05/2021.
