TikTok: number of followers of the 78 European Top 5 clubs with an official account (May 2021)

With 8.6 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most popular European club on the Chinese social network TikTok, ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 8 million) and Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, 5.4 million), according to data recorded by News Tank Football on 10/05/2021.

The Parisian club and Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League) posted the best growth in absolute value with an additional 1.9 million and 1.9 million fans respectively since 01/04/2021.

Tottenham also posted the best percentage growth over the period (excluding accounts with less than 10,000 followers) with a 76.2% increase in followers, ahead of two other Premier League clubs: Leeds United FC (+45.7%) and Newcastle United FC (+34.8%).

78 of the 98 clubs (79.6%) in the European Top 5 have an official account on TikTok:
• 20 out of 20 (100%) in LaLiga Santander
• 19 out of 20 (95%) in the Premier League
• 15 out of 20 (75%) in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats
• 13 out of 20 (65%) in the Serie A TIM
