New York City FC (MLS): Mastercard offers its sponsorship space to a family business in the Bronx

Mastercard, an American group specialised in payment solutions, has activated its partnership with New York City FC (MLS ) and is offering its sponsorship exposure to Sol Cacao, a family business based in the Bronx district (New York City, USA), for the entire 2021 season, announced the club on 10/05/2021. Sol Cacao thus becomes the "official small business" partner of New York City FC.

In January 2021, the American group and the club launched the NYCFC & Mastercard City Assist competition dedicated to small businesses in New York (50 applications). Initially, the designated company was to be displayed on signage at the Yankee Stadium and on New York City FC's communication media. Mastercard decided to go one step further and let the brand appear on the club's shirt sleeve.

"This marks the first time a small business will have prime advertising space on a Major League Soccer jersey," said New York City FC.
