Formula 1: Turkish Grand Prix cancelled, French GP advanced by 1 week (from 18 to 20/06/2021)

The 2021 French Grand Prix, originally scheduled for 25-27/06/2021, has been brought forward by one week, to 18-20/06/2021, following the cancellation of the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix, announced Formula One Management on 14/05/2021.

"With new Covid-19 travel restrictions it's no longer possible to race in Turkey on 11-13/06/2021. That weekend will now remain free, with the French Grand Prix moving a week earlier than originally planned and a second race in Austria - the Styrian Grand Prix - added to the calendar (from 25 to 27/06 and from 02 to 04/07/2021, instead of a single event initially planned)," explained Formula One Management. The Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg (AUT) will therefore host two races in 2021, as in 2020.

The Turkish Grand Prix, originally scheduled for 11-13/06/2021, had been added to the 2021 Formula One World Championship calendar following the cancellation of the Canadian event. "The changes mean there continues to be 23 races planned for the 2021 season," said the body.
