Eredivisie: AFC Ajax melt their 2020-21 champions trophy into 42,000 stars for season ticket holders

Crowned champions of the Netherlands for the 35^th time in their history after beating FC Emmen (4-0, 02/05/2021, Matchday 31 of the Eredivisie), AFC Ajax have melted down their 2020-21 championship trophy to create 42,000 stars, so that "each season ticket holder will receive their share of the champion trophy" which will "allow the club to physically share the championship and the 35^th trophy with fans," announced the Dutch club on 12/05/2021.

During the 2020-21 season, AFC Ajax played 30 of its 34 league matches behind closed doors due to health restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
