Brand Finance: Real Madrid, Barça and Manchester United, the most valuable club brands in 2021

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander), with a brand valuation of €1.276bn (-10.1% compared to the previous year), top the list of "the most valuable and strongest football club brands" compiled by the American company Brand Finance, a strategy and brand valuation consultancy, in its annual report "Football 50 2021", published on 17/05/2021.

In the 2021 ranking , the Madrid club - which was previously in first place in 2019 and 2020 - is once again just ahead of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander), whose brand valuation has fallen in the last 12 months from €1.413bn to €1.266bn (-10.4%). The Catalan club is ahead of Manchester United FC (Premier League), who complete the podium as in 2020 (3^rd, €1.130bn, -14%). FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), in fifth place, are the only club in the top ten to have seen their brand value increase (€1.068bn, +1.1%) over a period marked by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Premier League (6 clubs) and LaLiga Santander (2 clubs) are the only two leagues to be represented by more than one club in the Top 10 in 2021, as was the case in 2020. Bayern Munich and Paris…
