The Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro is claiming €3.6m in compensation from the French telecommunications operator Orange regarding the distribution of its former French channel Téléfoot. A summary hearing will take place at the Paris Commercial Court on Wednesday 19/05/2021.

Orange is the only ISP with whom Mediapro has failed to reach an amicable agreement. Orange estimates that it has suffered a loss of €6m due to the premature termination of the channel on 07/02/2021 following the loss of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT broadcasting rights. Mediapro had also signed distribution agreements with the operators SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free.

The Spanish group also sued the French pay-TV group Canal+ for "abuse of a dominant position" before the Paris Commercial Court on 26/11/2020.

"I am ensuring that the conciliation agreement between Mediapro and the LFP is properly implemented. Mediapro has almost settled the €100m due. This should be the case at the end of June
