Lega Serie A: eight former players, including Totti and Shevchenko, become Serie A ambassadors

The Lega Serie A has announced the launch of the "Serie A Ambassadors," "a team of legends who have made Serie A great and who will represent Italian football in the events organised by the Lega Serie A," announced the Italian League on 18/05/2021.

The first eight players to be included in the programme are Vincent Candela (FRA), Ciro Ferrara (ITA), Marco Materazzi (ITA), Andriy Shevchenko (UKR), Luca Toni (ITA), Francesco Totti (ITA), Christian Vieri (ITA), and Gianluca Zambrotta (ITA). Each of them have spent most of their club careers playing in the Italian league.

"The Ambassadors will be involved primarily in social responsibility projects, bringing their image and experience to support CSR activities and to promote positive messages. They will also be the business card of Serie A in the world, taking part in initiatives with international broadcasters and other activities with the various commercial partners of the Lega Serie A," explained the body.
