Rugby: Australia launches "Game On" its bid to host the 2027 World Cup

Australia is launching its bid to host the 2027 Rugby World Cup under the title "Game On", announced the Rugby Australia on 19/05/2021. Rugby Australia had previously announced its bid on 16/06/2020 via newly elected president, Hamish McLennan, who took office the day before.

World Rugby will simultaneously award the rights to host the next two Rugby World Cups - the 2025 and 2029 Women's Rugby World Cups and the 2027 and 2031 Men's Rugby World Cups - in May 2022. For 2027, Australia is only in competition with Russia, which has established a committee to prepare a bid to host the 2027 World Cup (on 28/07/2020), following the withdrawal of Argentina's bid in April 2020.
