Italy: "Next Supercoppa Italiana (Inter - Juventus) in Saudi Arabia" (Paolo Dal Pino, Lega Serie A)

"The next Supercoppa Italiana match will be in Saudi Arabia, as foreseen by our contract, with spectators. It will also be an extraordinary match, FC Inter Milan - Juventus FC, a great commercial for our football abroad," announced Paolo Dal Pino, president of the Lega Serie A on Rai Radio 1 on 24/05/2021.

The 34^th edition of the Supercoppa Italiana will pit FC Inter Milan, the 2020-21 Serie A TIM champions, versus Juventus FC, winners of the Coppa Italia. The match could take place in January 2022, according to Italian media reports.

An agreement signed in Zurich (SUI) between the Lega Serie A and the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia has provided for the hosting of three of the five upcoming Supercoppa Italiana, including the 2018-19 edition, in Saudi Arabia (in Riyadh or Jeddah), as announced by the Italian professional league, organiser of the competition, on 06/06/2018 (in a deal worth around €20m according to Italian media, with each participating club receiving between €3 and €3.5m).
