Tennis/ATP Media: 38.3% decrease in revenue in 2020 (£86.1m), pre-tax profit of €3.8m

Revenues for ATP Media, the production and distribution branch of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), amounted to £86.1m (€95m) for the 2020 financial year, a decrease of 38.3% (2019: £139.5m), according to the body, which published its annual accounts on 26/05/2021.

This decrease is mainly explained by the cancellation of tournaments due to the Covid-19 pandemic: six of the nine ATP Masters 1000 were cancelled in 2020, during a season that was interrupted in March 2020 and only resumed in early August behind closed doors.

 "Broadcast sales continue to be the dominant revenue stream and robuste contracts coupled with strong relationships with broadcasters allowed for a favorable valuation of the reduced series by broadcasters and that, with an insurance claim for cancellation loss, meant that the 60% reduction in tournaments translated to only a 38% loss of overall income.
