Australia-New Zealand 2023: Dave Beeche (NZL) appointed CEO of the ninth Women's World Cup

New Zealander Dave Beeche has been appointed CEO of the Women's World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand (20/07 - 20/08/2023), announced FIFA on 31/05/2021.

Beeche "will lead the overall delivery of the tournament, together with the chief operating officers, Jane Fernandez (AUS) and Jane Patterson (NZL). The tournament will also be the first edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup to feature 32 teams," said the world body.

"Whilst football might not be the number one sport at the moment in Australia and New Zealand, unlike other parts of the globe, the opportunity to bring a tournament of this significance to both countries represents an incredibly exciting opportunity to accelerate and grow the sport," said Dave Beeche.

"I look forward to working with both member associations and the host cities to not only deliver an outstanding tournament that showcases the world-class talent in women's football, but leave a lasting positive legacy for women's sport," added the new CEO.
