2020-21 LaLiga Santander: a cumulative audience of 153 million viewers in Spain (+9%)

358 of the 380 matches of the 2020-21 LaLiga Santander season (played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic) posted a cumulative audience of 153 million viewers in Spain on the Movistar LaLiga (Telefonica group) pay-TV channels and the free DTT channel Gol (Mediapro group), according to data from Kantar Media compiled by News Tank Football. The audiences for 22 matches could not be recorded for lack of a sufficient audience (less than 70,000 per match).

This cumulative audience is 9% higher than in the 2019-20 season (first season of the 2019-2022 rights cycle), which was interrupted in March 2020 and then resumed in June 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and 9% lower than in the 2018-19 season (2016-2019 rights cycle). The audience of the game broadcast on the free-TV channel Gol was up 13% compared to the previous season (635,921 versus 563,289 viewers).
