Bundesliga: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 18 clubs (June 2021)

The 18 clubs competing in the 2020-21 Bundesliga season have more than 144 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/06/2021. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 league on these three social networks combined, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander and the Serie A TIM, with an average of more than 8 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich, the 2020-21 Bundesliga champions are the most-popular German club with over 85 million fans, far ahead of Borussia Dortmund with 32 million. FC Schalke 04 complete the Bundesliga podium with just over 4.7 million fans.

Bayern Munich also posted the best growth in absolute value during the month of May 2021 with 492,358 additional fans, 60% of which were from Instagram alone (+295,842 followers).

VfL Wolfsburg, who qualified for the 2021-22 Champions League group stage, experienced the best percentage growth among the Bundesliga clubs on Facebook (+7.7%), while 1. FC Union Berlin, who qualified for the Europa Conference League, posted the best percentage growth on…
