FFF: "A 2021-22 budget impacted by Covid-19 and the failure of Mediapro" (P. Diallo, treasurer)

"This 2021-22 (provisional) budget is suffering the consequences of two crises, the health crisis linked to Covid-19 and the failure of Mediapro, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1 (2020-2024)," declared Philippe Diallo, treasurer of the French Football Federation, at the end-of-season federal assembly held by videoconference from the headquarters at the boulevard de Grenelle (Paris, FRA) on 04/06/2021.

This first budget presented by Philippe Diallo, who was elected treasurer on Noël Le Graët's list on 13/03/2021, forecasts €244.2m in resources and €253.6m in expenditure, i.e. a current result of €9.4m and a net result of €5.7m, taking into account the €3.7m positive balance that will result from Euro 2020 if France reaches the quarter-finals.

"This loss is unusual. For more than twenty years, the FFF has never presented a budget in deficit, but this situation must be set against the Federation's capacity to absorb this loss in the short term thanks to the reserves that have been built up in previous years," explained Philippe Diallo.
