Euro 2020: blockchain technology integrated into the Top Scorer trophy sponsored by Alipay

AntChain, a blockchain subsidiary of Ant Group (CHN), has become a partner of UEFA for five seasons (2021-2026), announced the body on 10/06/2021. AntChain thus becomes the "official global blockchain partner" of Euro 2020.

As part of the agreement, AntChain will provide its tech services to upload the data of the winner of the "Top Scorer trophy" sponsored by Alipay (Chinese online payment platform of Alibaba Group) to blockchain.

According to UEFA, the data of the winner of the Aliplay Top Scorer trophy will "uploaded to blockchain for permanent storage for the first time. The hash code on the base of the trophy, meanwhile, underlines Alipay's commitment to upload the trophy data to blockchain to ensure a permanent, incorruptible record of the top scorer's achievements."

For the occasion, Alipay and UEFA have presented the Top Scorer trophy for Euro 2020.
