Euro 2020: head-to-head Turkey - Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome (ITA), Friday 11/06/2021

Italy, ranked 7^th in the FIFA rankings, will host Turkey, ranked 29^th, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome (ITA) for the opening match of UEFA Euro 2020 on Friday 11/06/2021 (kick-off 21:00 CET), on Matchday 1 of Group A (which also includes Wales and Switzerland).

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC), presided over by Gabriele Gravina since October 2018 (re-elected on 22/02/2021), boasts just over one million amateur licensees (2018-19) and a turnover of €174m for the financial year 2019, while Turkey (TFF), headed by Nihat Özdemir since 01/06/2019, has over 300,000 licensees (2017) and a turnover of €85m (2019-20).

On social networks, the Italian national team has almost 9.2 million followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, 11 times as many as the Turkish Federation, which counts 816,000 (the Turkish national team has no official account of its own on the three platforms mentioned).
