2.Bundesliga: adidas to succeed Umbro as FC Schalke 04's equipment supplier from 2022-23

adidas will become the official equipment supplier of FC Schalke 04, relegated to the 2.Bundesliga for 2021-22, from 2022-23 and for five seasons (2022-2027), announced the club on 11/06/2021. As part of the agreement, 11teamsports, a sporting goods retailer, will be responsible for the distribution of FC Schalke's adidas kit.

The agreement marks the return of adidas as the club's equipment supplier. The Herzogenaurach (Bavaria, GER) based brand was FC Schalke's equipment supplier "from the founding of the Bundesliga in 1963 up until 2018," said the club, which finished last (18^th) in the Bundesliga at the end of the 2020-21 season.

The partnership between FC Schalke 04 and Umbro, which has been a partner of the German club since 2018-19, "will end prematurely on 30/06/2022," announced Alexander Jobst, marketing director at FC Schalke 04 on 18/02/2021. "We agreed together to end the partnership one year earlier," said Jobst. The agreement between the English brand and FC Schalke 04 was originally planned for the 2018-2023 cycle (€6m/season).
