FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) has set up an electoral committee to oversee the presidential election at the convention in 2015, the organisation announced in a circular to its 209 member federations, on 30/06/2014. The document was signed by Jérôme Valcke, FIFA general secretary.

Regulations stipulate that the committee shall consist of the chairs of FIFA's disciplinary committee, appeal committee, and audit and compliance committee (the later is a body that "ensures the completeness and reliability of financial accounting and reviews external auditors' reports at the request of the executive committee").

The mission of the electoral commission began during the 64th FIFA congress, which was held on 11/06/2014 in Sao Paulo (BRA). It will expire at the end of the electoral process after the 65th congress, to be held on 29/05/2015 Zurich (SUI).

The goal is to "ensure transparent and fair elections and thus foster confidence in the election process."
