Euro 2020: Volkswagen's "Klassiker" France - Germany on 15/06/2021

The France - Germany match at the Allianz Arena in Munich (GER), the first Euro 2020 match for the two teams (Group F, kick-off at 21:00 CET, 15/06/2021) is a "Klassiker" (German equivalent of the Spanish "Clasico") for Volkswagen. Both federations (DFB and FFF) have listed the German car manufacturer among their main partners.

While the contract with Volkswagen and the FFF is managed locally by Volkswagen France for €7m per season (until 2023), the German parent company invests between €25m and €30m each season in the Mannschaft and the DFB (until 2024). Volkswagen is also a partner of Euro 2020 (see activation programme below).

In France, the group has already unveiled its ambitions for the future of its partnership with the Federation, with operations focused on sustainable development: "Less communication and more action," said Jean-Manuel Caparros, director of communications and digital at Volkswagen France, to News Tank Football on 18/05/2021.
