Tennis/US Open: tournament at full capacity in 2021, in New York from 30/08 to 12/09/2021

All tickets for the 2021 US Open, the American Grand Slam tournament scheduled to take place from 30/08 to 12/09/2021 in New York (USA), will go on sale in July 2021, according to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as reported by the Associated Press on 17/06/2021.

The tournament, which was played behind closed doors in 2020, will not have any restrictions on its capacity in 2021, unlike Roland-Garros or Wimbledon (see below), and can therefore hope to welcome more than 700,000 spectators as in 2019.

This announcement comes following a statement by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo on 15/06/2021 that many of the State' remaining social distancing rules would be relaxed as 70% of adults have received at least one dose of the Coronavirus vaccine. The New York Mets (MLB) have also announced a return to full capacity from 21/06/2021.
