"A meeting on Monday between the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 organisers and leading organisations in the diversity field laid the foundation for a structured engagement process on inclusion and anti-discrimination, which is intended to inform and further strengthen the steps taken by the tournament organisers to ensure a fully inclusive tournament," announced FIFA on 16/06/2021.

The members of the stakeholder group represent, among others, the FARE network, the Centre for Sport and Human Rights (launched on 26/06/2018), the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) or organisations such as Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and ILGA World (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association).

Anti-discrimination training for staff involved in the organisation of the World Cup, a plan to detect discriminatory incidents in stadiums, measures to ensure accessibility to the competition and mechanisms for reporting human rights abuses were among the initiatives discussed during the group's first meeting.
