LaLiga: Socios.com to display Valencia CF's fan token "$VCF" as main shirt sponsor in 2021-22

Socios.com, a cryptocurrency blockchain platform owned by Maltese companies ChiliZ and Mediarex Sports & Entertainment, has become the main shirt sponsor of Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) for the 2021-22 season, announced the club on 18/06/2021.

The name of the club's dedicated fan token, the "$VCF Fan Token", will therefore be displayed on Valencia's kit. While many cryptocurrency/crypto-asset operators have already made deals with football clubs, including for shirt visibility, this is the first time a club has displayed its own digital currency on its kit. By purchasing $VCF Fan Tokens, Valencia FC fans will be able to participate in competitions, surveys and rewards. The club and Socios.com are therefore focusing on fan engagement.

The deal is said to be worth €2.4m, a 50% reduction compared to Valencia CF's previous contract, according to Spanish media.
