Tokyo 2020: 50% capacity at all Olympic venues and a maximum of 10,000 spectators

"Spectator limit for the Olympic Games has been set at 50% of venue capacity, up to a maximum of 10,000 people," this is the rule adopted by the IOC, IPC, Tokyo 2020, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (JPN) and the Japanese Government for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games "taking into consideration the government's restrictions on public events," on 21/06/2021.

The 2020 Games have been rescheduled from 23/07 to 08/08/2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As for the Paralympic Games (24/08 to 05/09/2021) a decision will be reached by 16/06/2021.

Only people who are residents of Japan will be allowed to attend the Olympic events.
