Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1) topped youth academy rankings released on 03/07/2014 by the Commission Nationale Paritaire (Joint National Commission), which is in charge of the CCNMF (National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Football Careers). Olympique Lyonnais also had the top-ranked youth academy in France in 2012-13.

With 5,661 points in total, OL beat out second-place Stade Rennais (Ligue 1, at 4,059 points), and third-place AS Monaco (Ligue 1, at 3,183 points). The FC Metz, first Ligue 2 club, were fifth with 3,091 points. The first club in National (French 3rd division) was Berrichonne de Châteauroux, in 15th with 1,930.

"This ranking once again rewards the path taken by Olympique Lyonnais in terms of training and reinforces the club's belief in its strategic choices," said OL on 03/07/2014.

The rankings take into account educational criteria -- home-grown players' and instructors' levels of degrees -- and sports criteria, such as the games played in professional leagues, European cups and national selections.
