Euro 2020: Over 60,000 spectators permitted for the semi-finals and final at Wembley

Over 60,000 spectators will be allowed to attend the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium (London, UK), according to the British Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), on 22/06/2021.

The 90,000-seat stadium will be at 75% capacity on Tuesday 06 and Wednesday 07, and again on Sunday 11/07/2021. The authorised increased in capacity "will see the largest crowds assembled at a sporting event in the UK in over 15 months," said the DCMS.

UEFA had reportedly threatened to move the Euro 2020 final (and possibly the semi-finals) from Wembley to the Puskas Arena in Budapest (HUN) if Covid-19 restrictions were not eased in the UK, according to British media reports on 17/06/2021.

The British government is also discussing an agreement with UEFA on the number of foreign fans, sponsors and VIPs allowed to attend the last three Euro 2020 games, according to media reports on 22/06/2021 (see below).
