Euro 2020: head-to-head Belgium - Portugal, Round of 16 in Seville (ESP), Sunday 27/06/2021

Belgium, first in the FIFA rankings, will face eighth-placed Portugal in the Round of 16 of UEFA Euro 2020 on Sunday 27/06/2021 (kick-off at 21:00 CET) at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla (ESP).

The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA), chaired by Mehdi Bayat since June 2019, has nearly 550,000 licensees (2020-21) and posted a turnover of €34.6m for the 2020 financial year, while the Federaçao Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF), headed by Fernando Gomes since December 2011, has more than 327,000 licensees and a turnover (2019-20) of €32.9m.

On social networks, the Portuguese national team has over 12.6 million followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, almost four times as many as the Belgian team, which has 3.2 million.

The 26 Portuguese players selected by Fernando Santos are valued at a total of €828m according to the website Transfermarkt on 25/06/2021. The group of 26 Belgian players coached by Spaniard Roberto Martinez are valued at €669m.

Portugal have won the Euro once, most recently in France in 2016, while Belgium have only qualified reached the final once, in 1980.
