Regulations: UEFA authorises clubs to display a sleeve sponsor for European competitions

European football clubs have been authorised to display a sleeve sponsor in UEFA's European club competitions from 2021-22.

In detail, teams will be allowed to display a single sponsor on the left sleeve of their shirts in a total area not exceeding 100 cm2 (maximum letter height 12cm). This regulation applies to the Champions League (men's and women's), the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

"This allows us to offer international rights packages. However, the sleeve sponsor represented in the European competition must already be a partner of the club in its respective championship. Olympique Lyonnais has therefore offered its new sleeve sponsor MG Motor (car manufacturer, 2021-2024) a presence in both competitions for 2021-22 (Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Europa League)," explained Cyrille Groll, OL's director of business development, to News Tank Football, on the occasion of the announcement of the French club's partnership with MG Motor on 25/06/2021.
