Nike: a turnover of $44.5bn (+19%) in 2021 including "football" revenues of $1.68bn (+7%)

Nike has posted a turnover of $44.538bn (€36.5bn) for the fiscal year 2021 (from 01/06/2020 to 31/05/2021), an increase of 19% (-2% excluding exchange rate effects) compared to 2020 ($33.6bn), announced the American equipment manufacturer on 24/06/2021.

The Nike brand contributed 94.9% of the group's revenues in 2021 ($42.3bn/€34.7bn), with its Converse brand contributing the remainder ($2.2bn/€1.8bn, +16% versus the previous year).

While North America represents the leading market for the Nike brand with $17.1bn in revenue (€14bn, +18.6%), ahead of EMEA which generated €11.4bn in turnover (€9.4bn, +22.5%), it was the Chinese market that experienced the strongest growth, with turnover up 24% in 2021 to $8.29bn (€6.79bn). All geographic areas showed strong double-digit growth. Despite temporary store closures across the marketplace due to Covid-19, comparable store sales grew 4%," said Nike.

The footwear category posted $28bn (€23bn) in revenues, representing 66.3% of the Nike brand's total. The football range as a whole generated $1.68bn (€1.37bn) in "wholesale equivalent revenues"…
