Euro 2020: England - Germany head-to-head Round of 16 at Wembley (ENG), Tuesday 29/06/2021

England fourth in the FIFA rankings, will host twelfth-placed Germany, in the Round of 16 of UEFA Euro 2020 on Tuesday 29/06/2021 (kick-off at 17:00 BST, 18:00 CET) at Wembley Stadium (London, ENG).

The German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball Bund), which is provisionally led by Rainer Koch and Peter Peters following the resignation of its president Fritz Keller on 17/05/2021, claims a total of 7.1 million licensees in 2021, and points out that you only need to take out a license once to be counted as a DFB member in Germany each season. German football has 1.8 million active players in 2021, which is the same number as those in English football.

In terms of turnover, the DFB posted revenues of €405.2m for the financial year 2019, compared to £335m (€390m) for The Football Association during the 2019-20 financial year (see details below).

On social media, the England national team has 17.4 million followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, 3.5 million more than the German team, which counts 13.9 million.
