Italy: DAZN acquires non-exclusive media rights to the Europa League and Europa Conference League

The OTT platform DAZN has acquired the non-exclusive streaming rights to the Europa League and Europa Conference League in Italy for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 30/06/2021.

The pay-TV operator Sky Italia had acquired the non-exclusive rights (all media supports) to these competitions for the same period on 05/02/2021.

Sky Italia cannot hold exclusive streaming rights until 2022 following a ruling by the Italian courts. Sky Italia and DAZN also acquired the same types of rights, for the Serie BKT, for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 27/04/2021 and 16/06/2021 respectively.

Sky Italia held the rights to the Europa League for the 2018-2021 cycle and broadcast one game per matchday free-to-air (contractual obligation with UEFA) on its DTT channel TV8.
