Ligue 1: +9.6 million fans for Paris Saint-Germain on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2020-21

The 20 clubs competing in the 2020-21 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season total more than 137 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/07/2021. The French championship is the least popular European Top 5 league on these three social networks combined, with an average of over 6.8 million fans per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remains the most popular French club with nearly 88.4 million fans. The Parisian club gained an additional 9.6 million followers during the 2020-21 season (from 01/08/2020 to 01/07/2021), including 6.5 million on Instagram alone. No other club from the French league performed as well over the period. In the European Top 5, only FC Barcelona (+14.1 million), Real Madrid CF (+13.6 million) and Juventus FC (+11.9 million) gained more fans on social media.

AS Monaco FC, second in the ranking of Ligue 1 clubs with 14.3 million followers, posted the best percentage growth (+32.5%), mainly due to its performance on Facebook (+3.3 million likes).
