Ligue 1 TV rights: "This €250m agreement with Amazon is a failure for the LFP" (Arnaud Simon)

"I was flabbergasted by Vincent Labrune's interview in L'Équipe (18/06/2021), who said something very French: 'The whole world envies us' for having Amazon as a partner. But not at that price, not in a million years! This agreement with Amazon, at €250m, is a failure. French football will suffer permanently. I remain very sceptical about what will happen next," said Arnaud Simon, CEO and founder of In & Out Stories, a consultancy firm for national and international sports organisations, on 30/06/2021.

The former managing director of Eurosport France spoke alongside Pierre Maes, consultant and author of the book "Le business des droits TV du football" ("The Business of Football TV Rights") and Philippe Bailly, president of the media consultancy NPA Conseil, during a webinar organised by News Tank Football entitled "Is the Sport and Media Industry Entering a New Era?"
