VfL Bochum: stadium naming partner Vonovia (real estate) becomes main shirt sponsor

German real estate company Vonovia SE (formerly named Deutsche Annington) has extended its partnership with VfL Bochum and become the German club's main shirt sponsor for "at least the next two seasons (2021-2023), regardless of the league," announced the club, promoted to the Bundesliga for the 2021-22 season, on 02/07/2021.

The club's main shirt sponsorship agreement is reported to be worth €1m per season. Vonovia has been a partner of VfL Bochum and title sponsor of the stadium, the "Vonovia Ruhrstadion" since 2016-17.

The German group based in Bochum (North Rhine-Westphalia) will succeed Tricorp (workwear, NED) as main shirt sponsor of VfL Bochum for the 2016-2021 period (€0.9m/season). "We are still in talks about the form in which the cooperation with Tricorp should continue. To be honest, Tricorp didn't really think that the Bundesliga was financially worthwhile," explained Hans-Peter Villis, chairman of VfL Bochum on the occasion of the presentation of the partnership with Vonovia.
