Premier League: Nent acquires rights (2022-2028) in 5 countries (Netherlands, Poland, Baltic States)

The Swedish pay and free TV group Nent (Nordic entertainment group) has acquired the broadcasting rights to the Premier League, for the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, over the 2022-2028 period (two three-year cycles), for its paid streaming platform Viaplay, on 07/07/2021.

Nent had already acquired the broadcasting rights to the Premier League, also for the 2022-2028 cycle, in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark on 06/02/2020. The rights were acquired for £2bn (€2.38bn), or £333m (€393m) per season, according to British media.

Available in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Nent Group's Viaplay streaming platform will be available in the US and Poland during 2021, in the Netherlands in 2022 and in four other markets by 2023. Nent Group aims to have 10.5 million Viaplay subscribers by the end of 2025 (including 6.5 million in its historical Scandinavian markets).
