Bundesliga: +9.1 million fans for Bayern Munich (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) in 2020-21

The 18 clubs competing in the 2020-21 Bundesliga season have more than 145 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/07/2021. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 league on these three social networks combined, behind the Premier League , LaLiga Santander and the Serie A TIM, with an average of more than 8 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich, the 2020-21 Bundesliga champions are the most-popular German club with over 85 million fans across the social three networks. Bayern gained 9.1 million additional fans during the 2020-21 season (01/08/2020 to 01/07/2021), including 5 million on Instagram alone. No German club performed better over the period.

Borussia Dortmund, the second most popular Bundesliga club with over 32 million fans, gained more than 2.5 million additional fans over the season (+8.5%).

Far behind, FC Schalke 04, relegated to the 2.Bundesliga at the end of 2020-21, complete the podium with more than 4.7 million fans, including nearly 200,000 additional fans over the period (+4.4%).
