Euro 2020: Italy crowned European champions (1-1, 3-2 on penalties in the final versus England)

Italy have been crowned Euro 2020 (played in 2021) champions by defeating England in the final (1-1, 3-2 on penalties) at Wembley (London, ENG) on Sunday 11/07/2021. The country has reached four European Championship finals but this is their second victory in the competition after 1968.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) will receive €28.25m from UEFA: in addition to the €9.25m paid to each of the 24 participating teams, the Italian side will receive €3m in bonuses for the group stage (€1m for each of its three victories in Group A), €1.5m for qualifying for the Round of 16, €2.5m for the quarter-finals and €4m for reaching the semi-finals. The FIGC will receive an additional €8m for winning the final.
