UEFA: No official decision yet on spray for free kick wall in European Cups

UEFA will announce in the first half of August whether European Cups referees will use a vanishing spray to mark the defensive wall during free kicks, according to information received by News Tank on 09/07/2014.

The spray was tested during the U-17 Euro (from 09 to 21/05/2014) in Malta. "UEFA seems to be moving towards the adoption of the spray, although there is nothing official. We need the opinions of both the referees' commission and the executive committee," said sources close to UEFA on 09/07/2014.

The spray was created by Pablo Silva (ARG) and Heine Allemagne (BRA). The later has indicated that an understanding has already been reached. "It's already been signed; UEFA will use this in their championships. Some people have been conservative but I hope that people around the world [...] will be impressed by what they have seen in this World Cup," he said to the website of ITV, the private British broadcasting group, on 08/07/2014.
