UEFA: executive committee allocates more resources to fight against match-fixing

The UEFA executive committee has agreed to increase the resources invested in the fight against match-fixing and to develop its internal expertise and investigation unit in this area, according to the European body during its meeting organised in London (ENG) on 11/07/2021, ahead of the Euro 2020 final at Wembley (Italy - England, 1-1, 3-2 on penalties).

"This decision is the result of an independent feasibility study, which demonstrated that intelligence, investigation, and prevention, are the main sectors that need to be strengthened to better fight match-fixing," said UEFA (see below).

The next UEFA executive committee meeting will take place in Chisinau (Moldova) on 22/09/2021.
