Portugal: New Balance to launch shoes in FC Porto's colours

New Balance, an American sports brand, will launch shoes in the colours of FC Porto (Liga Sagrès), the club announced on 07/07/2014.

The shoes, as well as other classic New Balance products, will be available at the club's official sales points. New Balance is the parent company of Warrior Sport, which has been FC Porto's official kit supplier since 30/05/2014. The three-year partnership will end after the 2016-17 season, and is estimated at €2.5m per year.

The sale of New Balance products is also explained by the fact that Warrior does not have any lifestyle shoes.

• Nike has been FC Porto's technical partner since 2000 and paid the Portuguese club €2m per year over 2010-2014.
• On 15/04/2013, Warrior Sport, the American sports brand, and Sport Finance, the French group that equips Kappa and Sergio Tacchini in France, announced a distribution agreement on the French market through 2017. 
• Warrior has been the kit supplier to Liverpool (Premier League) since 2012-13. This agreement assures Liverpool of €29.8m per year through 2017-18.
