Euro 2020/USA: an average of 1.36 million viewers and a record 6.5 million for the final on ESPN

Italy - England (1-1, 3-2 on penalties), the Euro 2020 final, was watched by an average of 6.488 million viewers, with a peak audience of 8.199 million during the penalty shootout, on the US channel ESPN on Sunday 11/07/2021 (kick-off 21:00 CET, 15:00 on the US East Coast, noon on the West Coast), according to the US pay-TV package on 13/07/2021.

The audience is up 43% compared to the Euro 2016 final and is a record in the US for a Euro match since ESPN and ABC (Disney Group) have been broadcasting the competition (2008 edition). The final of Euro 2020 was also the most-watched football match in the US since the 2019 Women's World Cup final, USA-Netherlands (2-0), which drew an average of 15.87 million viewers, on 07/07/2019 (kick-off 17:00 CET, 11:00 US East Coast, 08:00 West Coast).

The 51 matches broadcast on ABC, ESPN and ESPN 2 drew an average of 1.363 million viewers, an increase of 31% compared to Euro 2016 on ESPN and ESPN 2 (an average of 1.039 million viewers).
