Real Madrid CF: a turnover of €653m (-8.7%) and net profit of €874,000 in 2020-21

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover of €653m in the 2020-21 financial year (from 01/07/2020 to 30/06/2021), down 8.7% on the 2019-20 financial year (€714.9m), according to the club following the meeting of its board of directors on 14/07/2021. These annual accounts, which exclude the ongoing Santiago Bernabéu renovation project (see below), will still need to be approved by the next socios general assembly.

"The effects of the healthcare crisis caused by Covid-19, which started in March last year, have continued throughout the 2020-21 financial year, with all matches having to be played behind closed doors. This has led to a loss of revenue in all lines of business, primarily for the stadium, as there is no income from match attendances, but also for TV rights, both from LaLiga and UEFA, and commercial activities, both in the operation of facilities and in retail sales and sponsorship," said Real Madrid, which estimates the loss of revenue caused by the Covid-19 crisis at nearly €300m since March 2020.
